Animator Frida Ek unveils the packaging for Mantes, a collection of homebrews crafted with love. A personal branding odyssey, the labels capture the goofy and rugged essence of Frida’s dad, Mante, who has ventured into homebrewing for family and friends. The illustrations, anchored by the beer foam’s curled line, breathe life into the brand, infusing each bottle with character and familiarity. As an animator, Frida goes the extra mile, animating the logo to sit on the dock in front of a rippling pond, making the packaging come alive.
A label of love, where illustration meets personal branding In a self initiated venture I decided to create a visual identity for my dad who’s recently taken a deepdive into homebrewing for his family and friends’ events. It’s been a really fun project aimed at capturing his goofy and rugged personality in a collection of labels, all set against a summery Swedish backdrop. Centering ‘Mante’ and his flair for using aprons without a shirt, the brand bubbles with character.
The beverages have Swedish names akin to the slugabed cider, the layabout wine and the gutter beer, bringing a facetiously unpolished contrast to the bright and friendly designs. Using the curled line of the beer foam as a stepping stone and detail running through the illustrations and logotype. Establishing a simple brand with a homey, familiar feel that harnesses the lovingly handcrafted process behind the product. As an animator this was also a great opportunity for me to further highlight this project very close to my heart. Animating the logo of the beer bottle as it sits on the dock in front of a rippling pond, making it truly come to life. Printing batches of beer, cider and wine labels for various events, I also made a small print run of totes and t-shirts to market this labor of love and quench his fans’ thirst for merch.
